It’s been a while since I’ve done an actual writing update. So… here it is!
The first two books of Underdogs have been published. I’m hoping to finish editing the third before Thursday(God help me), because I get my wisdom teeth taken out. So wish me luck with that. The third book will be published on June 22, 2023, and you can preorder it now! I want to start taking preorders for the paperbacks, and my online store makes that possible. If you’d like to preorder a paperback or hardcover, pop on over to my shop. I’ve rewritten the fourth book three times at this point, so I’ll hopefully have that finished soon. The next few books for Underdogs won’t be as quick of a release as the other three, but I still hope you enjoy them. They’ll each be switching to different povs, so the first few books are more about getting inside the character’s minds and learning the worlds they come from. This fourth book, however, might be a bit more on the darker side than the rest, and a tad more mature (in a heavy series of current and past situations way, not a mature-content way). My reference for these books when it comes to what o write about can be described as Animorphs and Goosebumps. I don’t plan on having anything like my books When Dead Men Bleed, The Blood Room, Through the Dimension of Nightmares, or Building Monsters in these books (gore/blood/terrifying). I plan on charting my growth as a writer with these books, and I want to get better each time I write an Underdogs book. So I hope you enjoy. In other news, When Dead Men Breathe will be released in October. I will be editing that while finishing the third book in the Dead Men Series. I also plan for a prequel trilogy for Dead Men, but that won’t happen for a while, as I want to finish everything I’ve started beforehand. If you recall, Go was finished not too long ago, the second to Stop. I’ve been thinking about the end of the book non-stop lately, and I think it’s another one of my favorites. I will be editing that soon after WDMB2, and Waterlogged will be edited after that. My goal is to tie up the series I’ve yet to finish (including Replay) before starting anything new. But of course, we’ll see where the tides take me. Thanks so much for all your support and love. I feel like I’m in a turning point with my books and writing, and I’m so glad to have you on this journey with me. So thank you.

Wattys & WaterloggedMy books didn’t get shortlisted for the Wattys, but that’s okay! That means I can go ahead and start getting Waterlogged ready to publish. I will be publishing the parts separately at first, so watch out for that announcement sometime next year. Also, Waterlogged, Through the Dimension of Nightmares, and When the Sky Eats have been taken down from Wattpad. You can read them on Radish, or, if you’d rather, you can find them on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and your favorite bookish places. Dead Men Trilogy Book 2October 1st was When Dead Men Bleed’s 1-year birthday! I finished it late 2020 and had the second and most of the third book plotted out. However, between a move and the days between today, the spiral I’d had has vanished. I’m still looking, but as of right now, I still have not found it. That being said, spooky season had me inspired. I’ve been real quiet this past year with my many projects, but I think I needed a bit of a break. But yesterday, I started jotting down plot points and things I wanted to happen in WDMB2. I’ve had seven chapters written for a little over a year now, and today, I’ve begun adding to it. I can’t wait to see where this series will take me, especially since I remember almost nothing about what I’d wanted before. All I know is this version is already better. GoI’m still working on Go. I was supposed to finish it forever ago, but I’ve hit a wall. That being said, I started writing it from a different angle, so that has helped a lot. I know where I want it to go, but I’m not sure where to end it anymore. But it'll come to me, and one day, you’ll get to finally read Stop’s sequel. Replay: PeridotI went through Peridot and added a few more endings. I just didn’t feel right about it, like it was missing something. But NOW it is completely finished and I’m ready to edit and publish it. It reached over 100k (the size of The One-Hundred), making it the longest Replay Book in the series. It has 21 different endings. Will you be able to find the good ones? I will have a cover reveal for Peridot soon, so watch out for that! The ebook is also available to purchase for ARC’s if you like reading raw, unedited books. Just head over to my shop to purchase it. I plan on releasing Peridot on December 31, 2022, so mark your calendars! If you haven’t read the books yet, you can get them all at my shop. Replay should have 5 more books after Peridot, and then it’ll be finished. One book for each character. Get ready for a wild ride. Underdogs SeriesIf you’ve been on my Smashwords profile lately, you’ll notice a new series has popped up: Underdogs. I’ve been sitting on these books for two years, and plan to release them next year. I wanted to wait until Replay is finished, but I’m too excited for Underdogs. I’m 1/3 of the way through writing the 4th book, so wish me luck. The release dates are tentative, so they are subject to change. Thank YouThank you so much for reading, and please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Have a wonderful rest of your day!
SO. I didn’t finish Go. Have too many things I want to do in the book and not a smooth way to get it all together. Not to mention February was the last month for the book boxes, so I was kind of focused on that. I also started up DoorDash for extra money, so you could say I’ve been a bit busy!
Either way, here’s the skinny: March, I was supposed to finish Damian. But as February came to an end, I realized I’d written a whole book for Damian, and I left off on quite a cliffhanger. Long story short, Damian is finished and is the beginning of a spin-off trilogy about Damian. Yes, that means more One-Hundred books. I hope you’re excited. I have 9 books I want to write for The One-Hundred universe, so wish me luck. I hope you look forward to reading stories from Damian, Morgiana… and even Lily-flor. Oh, yeah. You read that right. So Damian is done. When will it be released? When I finish the second book. I want to get in the habit of finishing the next book before releasing the book before it. Example: I won’t release Replay: Peridot before I’m done with Replay: Pearl and so on. This way, the people reading them won’t have to wait four years like they did with Stop; Go. *Couch cough* Sorry, y’all. Anyway. I will continue working on Go this month, as well as Pearl. I have some cool ideas I want to implement somehow. I’ve finished drafting the outline of Go, BUT it will probably go through SEVERAL revisions before I’m happy with it. Good thing is I know where I want it to end. If that changes, oh well. It’s happened before and it’ll happen again. It isn’t the end of the world. Anyway! Don’t forget to vote on the next book box here. Have a wonderful day! New month, new book.
I'm finally going to finish Go, the second book to Stop in the Stop; Go Duology. I got 24k words in and stopped two years ago. I couldn't go any further. I was terrified the second book wouldn't live up to the first, and it kind of crippled me. But here I am, tackling it once more. I've read through Stop and what I have of Go, and I've been making notes. Loose ends that need tying up, random ideas I could throw in there... and I think I'm ready. I'm finally ready to write the other 50-75k words. Cass/andra, Tomoe, Axus... I'm coming back for you, and boy do I have some adventures for you to go on. If you haven't read Stop, I recommend it. Half of it is in Iambic Pentameter (a very loose version, at least), and it literally straddles the line of science fiction and fantasy. Shape shifting half cyborgs, kitsunes, Jabberwocks, the Cheshire, alien races made from gems, a galactic bounty hunt... I think giving you a list of what's not in this book would be an easier list to digest! Either way, I love this story and I can't wait to complete it. Oh... and did I mention most all of my books are connected somehow? I'm also starting to work on the next installment of Replay--Pearl. Alternate ending 6. I may or may not be doing the whole one book per month thing again. I know, I know, it wore me out last time, but I can do it now. I know I can. Besides. I'm writing like 1 1/2 books every month. So. It'll be fine. I'll keep you updated with Go and Pearl. Wish me luck! - K. |
