Day 7. This book is probably the reason most of you are here, and the reason why reads trickle into my other books. What am I talking about? The One-Hundred, of course!
If you haven’t read this, let me give you a snippet. Cressa-la was born with legs from a mermaid. Because of a law that kills all human children born, her life is in immediate danger—except. The law states that one in every one-hundred thousand human children will be spared. Luckily, she’s one of them. She grows up on an island, ignorant of merpeople and told not to touch the water. In attempts to save a beached dolphin, she breaks the number one rule of the island and is nearly drowned by it. Thanks to a merman she unknowingly befriended, she got away, but her world was expanded exponentially. Yadda, yadda, yadda, a darkness begins to follow her and want her and she has to defeat it before the world is doomed. Here’s the actual summary. If you haven’t checked it out, I recommend it. It currently has six complete books in the series (plus a short and a novella), and I am working on the seventh. If you haven’t checked out the series, all the books are available here. I hope you enjoy!
SUMMARY: Every human baby is killed beneath the waves, with one exception--the one hundred thousandth is spared. Among them, there are those chosen by the moon or sea, an ancient magic sweeping over them. They are called the One-Hundreds. But when one of the gifted rises, the darkness chases after her and hunts her down, loving her for his own selfish desires while another boy who's given up on love is drawn to her. Unless Cressa-la can bring the darkness to his knees and fight the war raging inside of her, the world is doomed.
